Arnoglossus [Arnoglossus]
Description
Arnoglossus is a genus of lefteye flounders primarily found in temperate and tropical seas. These fish are characterized by their asymmetrical body shape with both eyes situated on the left side. They inhabit sandy or muddy bottoms where they camouflage and prey on small invertebrates. Species within this genus vary in size and coloration, but they generally have a flattened body that helps them blend into the ocean floor.
