Large-tooth flounders [Etropus]

Description

The Etropus genus consists of small to medium-sized flatfishes known as large-tooth flounders, inhabiting the sandy and muddy bottoms of the western Atlantic Ocean. They are distinguished by their relatively small size, asymmetrical bodies with both eyes on the right side, and the presence of large, prominent teeth. These flounders are benthic feeders, preying on small invertebrates.
