Morid Cod [Moridae]
Description
Moridae, or morid cods, are a family of marine fish found in both deep and shallow waters around the world. These fish have elongated bodies, one or two dorsal fins, and a chin barbel that is sometimes present. They are mostly small to medium in size and have a variety of colors and patterns. Morid cods are benthic, living near the bottom of the ocean, and some species undertake vertical migrations. They are primarily of interest to scientific research rather than commercial fishing.
