Slope Cod [Pseudophycis]
Description
Pseudophycis, commonly known as Slope Cods, are a group of morid cods adapted to live on continental slopes. They have elongated, robust bodies and are found in the Southern Hemisphere, particularly around New Zealand and Australia. Slope Cods feed on a variety of benthic invertebrates and small fish, contributing to the benthic food web in their deep-sea habitats.
