Description
Lima hians, also known as the swimming fileclam, is a species of bivalve mollusk in the family Limidae. It is found in the northeast Atlantic, from Norway to the Canary Islands, and in the Mediterranean. The swimming fileclam is notable for its ability to swim by clapping its shell halves together. It has a rough, white shell with fine radial ribs and can reach up to 3 inches in length.
