Sicklefin Weasel Shark [Hemigaleus australiensis]

Description

The Sicklefin Weasel Shark is a moderately small species that inhabits the continental shelves of northern Australia. It has a slender body, a long, pointed snout, and large, sickle-shaped pectoral fins. It preys on small bony fishes and invertebrates. Due to its limited distribution and low reproductive rate, it is vulnerable to overfishing.
