Description
The Short-tail Nurse Shark, scientifically named Pseudoginglymostoma brevicaudatum, is a species of carpet shark in the family Ginglymostomatidae. They are indigenous to the Indian Ocean, particularly around Madagascar and the Seychelles. This species is characterized by its noticeably short tail, which is significantly less than the length of the body and head combined. It has a broad, flattened head and body, and small barbels near the nostrils. They are nocturnal creatures that rest in caves or coral reefs during the day and hunt at night. Their diet consists mainly of small fish and invertebrates.
