Peruvian Plate Limpet [Pododesmus squama]

Description
This species is native to the southeastern Pacific Ocean, specifically along the coasts of Peru. It is characterized by a rough, flat shell and a large foot which it uses to cling to rocks. Its diet primarily consists of algae and other plant material. It is particularly resistant to wave action and can be found in highly exposed intertidal zones.
