Pacific Tonguefish [Symphurus atricaudus]
Description
Pacific Tonguefish is a marine flatfish found in the Pacific Ocean along the coasts of North and Central America. It inhabits sandy and muddy bottoms, usually in relatively shallow waters. Its body is elongated and it has a small head and a large mouth. The color is brownish with irregular dark blotches. It feeds on small invertebrates and can reach up to 17 cm in length.
