Description
The Hippopus Clam is found in the Indo-Pacific region. They inhabit sandy or muddy bottoms near coral reefs. Their shell is thick, with large, equal valves. This species is known for having one of the most variable color patterns among clams, ranging from green, brown, yellow, or even white. They are filter feeders and host zooxanthellae.
