Description

The Gulf flounder is a marine flatfish that inhabits the Gulf of Mexico and the Western Atlantic Ocean. It has a brown body with three distinct eye-like spots that serve as a defence mechanism against predators. The Gulf flounder inhabits shallow coastal waters with sandy or muddy bottoms, where it feeds on small fish and crustaceans.
