Description
This species is a member of the Rhinobatidae family, commonly known as the guitarfishes. It resides in the temperate coastal waters of Eastern Australia. Notably, the Eastern Australian Shovelnose Ray possesses a wide and flat body with a pointed snout, resembling both a shark and a ray. It grows to an average length of 1.2 meters and is generally found in sandy or muddy bottoms in estuaries and near-shore coastal waters.
