Dovekie [Alle alle]
Description
The Dovekie, also known as the Little Auk, is the only member of the genus Alle. It is a small seabird found in the cold waters of the Arctic. This bird is characterized by its small size, black and white plumage, and a short bill. It feeds by swimming underwater and catching small marine animals. During the breeding season, they nest in large colonies on cliffs or slopes. Their diet primarily consists of copepods, but they also consume a variety of other small marine animals.
