Description

The Common Slipper Shell is a medium-sized marine gastropod commonly found in the Western Atlantic Ocean from Nova Scotia to Mexico. It is characterized by its smooth, oval-shaped shell with a convex, rounded apex, and a whitish to cream color. The inside of the shell is often shiny white with a deep, cup-like depression. This species is known for its sequential hermaphroditism, starting life as a male and later changing to female.
