Description
The common brill is a species of flatfish in the turbot family Scophthalmidae. It is found in the northeast Atlantic, Baltic Sea, and Mediterranean, usually in shallow inshore waters or further out over sandy or muddy seabeds. It has an oval, diamond-shaped body that is arched above the eye, with a small head and a large mouth. The common brill is a carnivorous predator and feeds on a range of crustaceans, mollusks, and small fish.
