Description
Pleurobranchus hilli, commonly known as the Brushtail Ghoul, is a species of sidegill sea slug, a type of shell-less marine opisthobranch gastropod mollusk in the family Pleurobranchidae. This species is known from the tropical waters of the Indo-Pacific, ranging from the eastern coast of Africa to the waters of Hawaii, Fiji, and the Marshall Islands. This nocturnal species can be found on sandy substrates of lagoons and seaward reefs at depths of up to 30 meters. It is characterized by its large size, up to 50 cm in length, and its variable coloration, which can range from pink to brown or black. The body is covered with soft, velvety papillae, giving it a 'brushtail' appearance.
