Description
The Blue Ling is a species of lotid cod. It is found in the North Atlantic and Arctic oceans. The Blue Ling inhabits the deep-sea slopes at depths of 300 to 1400 meters. It has a long, slender body with a small head, large eyes, and a rounded snout. Its color varies from bluish to brownish. The Blue Ling is a slow-growing and long-lived species with a maximum recorded age of 30 years and can grow up to 155 cm. It feeds mainly on fish and invertebrates.
