Description

White Hake, or Urophycis tenuis, is a marine species that inhabits the northwest Atlantic Ocean. It is a deep-water fish, usually found at depths ranging from 180 to 900 meters. The White Hake has a long, slender body with a small head and a square or slightly rounded tail. The fish is generally a dark gray color on the top and sides, fading to a white underbelly. This species is known for its nocturnal behavior, feeding on small fish and invertebrates during the night.
