Largescale flounder [Pseudorhombus lipogrammus]
Description
This species is found in the Western Pacific, from the South China Sea and the East China Sea to the coasts of Japan. It inhabits coastal waters and estuaries with sandy or muddy bottoms. The Largescale flounder has a unique pattern of large, dark blotches across its body, which are used for camouflage against predators.
