Fourspot Flounder [Paralichthys oblongus]
Description
Fourspot Flounder, or Paralichthys oblongus, is another species in the Windowpane genus. This species is characterized by four prominent spots on its back, two on each side. They are found in the Western Atlantic, from Massachusetts to Florida, and are known to prefer sandy or muddy bottoms of shallow coastal waters and estuaries. Their diet consists of small crustaceans, polychaetes, and other invertebrates.
