Description
Vulsella vulsella, commonly known as the Fluted Vulsella, is a species of bivalve mollusk in the family Vulsellidae. It is known for its elongated, leathery shell that is often white to light brown in color. The inside of the shell is smooth and shiny. This species is found in the Indo-Pacific region, particularly around the coasts of Australia and Indonesia. It inhabits areas with sandy or muddy substrates and can be found at depths from 10 to 60 meters. It is a filter feeder, drawing in water and extracting organic matter for sustenance.
