Description

Megadyptes is a genus containing the Yellow-eyed Penguin (Megadyptes antipodes), known for its distinctive yellow eyes and pale yellow head. It is one of the few penguin species with a limited distribution, found primarily in New Zealand. These penguins are forest-dwelling, nesting in dense woods close to the shore. Their diet mainly consists of fish and squid.
