Wart Anemones [Bunodactis]
Description
Bunodactis is a genus of sea anemones commonly referred to as wart anemones due to the wart-like projections found on their bodies. These anemones are adaptable to a variety of marine environments, from shallow waters to deeper sea floors. They have a sticky base for attachment to rocks and other substrates, and their tentacles are equipped with stinging cells to capture prey. Bunodactis species are important predators in their ecosystems, controlling populations of smaller marine organisms.
