Description
Venefica, often referred to as witch velvetfishes, are intriguing for their unusual, ornate appearance and venomous spines. They inhabit tropical and subtropical waters, usually found on soft sediments where they can use their camouflage to blend in and ambush prey. Despite their menacing look, they are relatively small and secretive.
