Description

Tateurndina is a genus in the Eleotridae family, unique for its single species, Tateurndina ocellicauda, commonly known as the peacock gudgeon. This freshwater species is native to Papua New Guinea and is distinguished by its vibrant colors and distinct patterning. Despite its marine family lineage, the peacock gudgeon is found exclusively in freshwater habitats, where it prefers slow-moving waters with plenty of cover.
