Spotted Morays [Gymnothorax moringa]
Description
Gymnothorax moringa, commonly referred to as the Spotted Moray, is another example of a species-specific genus within the Muraenidae family. This species is easily identifiable by its dark body covered in small, bright spots. Inhabiting the Western Atlantic, including the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean, it occupies rocky and coral reefs, preying on small fish and cephalopods.
