Spotted Moray [Gymnothorax moringa]
Description
The Spotted Moray is a species of marine fish in the family Muraenidae. It is widespread throughout the tropical waters of the western Atlantic Ocean from Canada to Brazil. It is a medium size fish that can reach a maximum size of 200 cm length. The body is elongated with a brown background dotted with numerous white spots. Its snout is elongated and its mouth is armed with sharp teeth allowing it to seize its prey and tear it apart before swallowing it.
