Sand Stargazers [Gillellus]
Description
The Gillellus genus, known as Sand Stargazers, comprises a group of small, cryptic fish that blend into sandy environments. They are distinguished by their mottled appearance, which provides excellent camouflage against sandy or rocky bottoms. Like other stargazers, they have eyes and mouth positioned on top of their head, ideal for their ambush predation lifestyle.
