Purplemouth Morays [Scuticaria]
Description
Scuticaria is a genus that includes the Purplemouth Morays, named for the distinctive purplish hue inside their mouths. These eels are less common and inhabit the deeper waters of coral reefs in the Indo-Pacific. They have elongated, slender bodies with a smooth, scaleless skin. Their diet is less known but includes small fish and possibly crustaceans.
