Freckled Moray [Gymnothorax obesus]
Description
The Freckled Moray, Gymnothorax obesus, is a species of eel that can be found in the Eastern Atlantic Ocean, particularly around the Canary Islands. They have a brownish body color with numerous small white spots, which gives them their 'freckled' appearance. They can grow up to 100cm in length. Freckled Morays are nocturnal predators, feeding primarily on fish and crustaceans. They are known to inhabit rocky reefs and the sandy seabed.
