Oblique-banded Flathead [Rogadius]
Description
Rogadius species, known as oblique-banded flatheads, are identifiable by the oblique bands across their body, offering excellent camouflage against the sandy and rocky bottoms they inhabit. These fishes are spread throughout the Indo-Pacific region, where they employ an ambush predatory tactic, remaining still until prey approaches within striking distance. Their adaptation to blend into the ocean floor's substrate makes them intriguing subjects for studies on marine camouflage and predation.
