Great Penguins [Pygoscelis]

Description

The genus Pygoscelis, known as the Great Penguins, includes species such as the Adelie, Chinstrap, and Gentoo Penguins. These species are easily recognized by their upright posture and distinctive markings. They are primarily found in Antarctic and sub-Antarctic regions, with some species extending to southern South American coasts. They feed on krill, fish, and squid, often forming large breeding colonies on ice-free surfaces.
