Giant sleepers [Gobiomorus]
Description
Gobiomorus, commonly referred to as giant sleepers, is a genus of fish in the Eleotridae family, notable for containing some of the largest species within the family. These fish are primarily found in fresh and brackish waters of Central and South America, where they inhabit rivers and coastal lagoons. Their large size, reaching up to 50 cm in length in some species, distinguishes them from other genera in the family. They have a preference for muddy bottoms where they can easily burrow.
