Engyophrys [Engyophrys]
Description
Engyophrys is a small genus of lefteye flounders inhabiting tropical and subtropical regions. These species are characterized by their relatively small size and preference for sandy or muddy substrates. They are benthic feeders, preying on small crustaceans and other invertebrates found within their habitat. The body shape of Engyophrys species is highly adapted for a life of camouflage and stealth, allowing them to avoid predators while hunting for food.
