Chiridius [Chiridius]
Description
The genus Chiridius consists of small, pelagic copepods belonging to the Aetideidae family. These organisms are identifiable by their cylindrical bodies and the presence of distinct, elongated appendages. Chiridius species are adapted to a life in the open ocean, where they feed on smaller planktonic organisms and, in turn, serve as prey for larger marine predators.
