Description

Patellidae, commonly known as true limpets, are a family of small to large-sized marine gastropods characterized by their simple, conical shells. These animals adhere strongly to hard surfaces in the intertidal zone. True limpets feed by grazing on algae with their radula. They are found in all the world's oceans, with a high diversity in temperate and tropical regions.
