Description

Patellidae, commonly known as true limpets, is a family of small to large marine gastropods characterized by their conical shells. These limpets are found attached to hard substrates in intertidal and subtidal zones, where they graze on algae. Their simple, yet strong, radulae allow them to efficiently scrape food off the rocks.
