Description

Bursidae, or the frog shells, include a variety of medium to large sea snails. These gastropod mollusks have robust, often spiny or nodular shells, with a wide, siphonal canal. Bursids are carnivorous, preying on a range of invertebrates. The family is named for their shells' resemblance to a crouched frog. They inhabit tropical and subtropical seas, often found on coral reefs or rocky substrates.
