Angelsharks [Squatiniformes]

Description

Squatiniformes, or angelsharks, have a flattened body and broad pectoral fins that give them a strong resemblance to rays. These bottom-dwellers are found on continental shelves and slopes, primarily in temperate and tropical seas. Angelsharks are ambush predators, feeding on fish, crustaceans, and mollusks.
