Yellowfoot Pāua [Haliotis australis]

Description
The Yellowfoot Pāua is a species of abalone found in New Zealand and Southern Australia. Smaller than the Blackfoot Pāua, it is easily identifiable by its yellow foot and the yellowish interior of its shell. The Yellowfoot Pāua inhabits rocky reefs in shallow subtidal waters and feeds on seaweed. It is also harvested for its meat and shell, which is used in jewelry and other crafts.
