Wolf Herring [Chirocentrus dorab]
Description
Wolf Herring is a species of fish in the herring family, Chirocentridae. It is silver in color and has an elongated body up to 1 meter in length. It is distinguished by its sharp, elongated teeth and the absence of a dorsal fin. Wolf Herring is a pelagic fish that inhabits coastal waters, usually in depths less than 30 meters. It feeds on smaller fish and has a wide distribution range, from the Persian Gulf, through the Indian Ocean, to Southeast Asia and Northern Australia.
