Truncate-tail Sole [Asterorhombus truncatus]
Description
The Truncate-tail Sole is a species of flatfish in the family Bothidae. It is found in the Indo-West Pacific region, especially around the Philippines, Indonesia, and Papua New Guinea. This species lives on sandy or muddy bottoms of shallow waters, usually not deeper than 20 meters. It has an elongated body, eyes on the left side, and a truncated tail, which distinguishes it from other soles. Its maximum length is about 20 cm.
