Sturgeon Poacher [Podothecus accipenserinus]
Description
The Sturgeon Poacher is a species of poacher native to the northern Pacific Ocean from the Sea of Japan to the Bering Sea and Canada, and is also found in the Arctic Ocean. It is a demersal fish that can be found at depths of from 0 to 375 metres (0 to 1,230 ft), though mostly between 55 to 275 metres (180 to 902 ft). This species can reach a length of 40 centimetres (16 in) TL though most do not exceed 22 centimetres (8.7 in). This species is of minor importance to local commercial fisheries.
