Stinging Sea Pen [Virgularia mirabilis]

Description
The Stinging Sea Pen is found in the North Atlantic Ocean, the North Sea, and the Mediterranean Sea. It lives in soft, sandy, or muddy substrates at depths of up to 100 meters. It is a large species, reaching up to 50 cm in height, and has a characteristic red or pink color.
