Description
The Squaretail mullet, also known as Liza vaigiensis, is a species of fish in the family Mugilidae. It inhabits estuaries and coastal areas throughout the Indo-Pacific region, from the eastern coast of Africa to the islands of the South Pacific. It is a euryhaline species, capable of withstanding a wide range of salinities. Distinguished by its square tail and silvery body, it can reach up to 40 cm in length. The species is omnivorous, feeding on a diet of algae, plankton, and small invertebrates.
