Spotted flounder [Trichopsetta ventralis]

Description

The Spotted flounder is a marine species that is native to the western Atlantic ocean. The species is commonly found in seagrass beds, bays, and estuaries. They are characterized by their diamond-shaped body and both of their eyes on one side of the body. The upper side is dark in color, typically brown or gray with pale spots, and the underside is white. This species can reach a maximum size of up to 30 cm in length.
