Southern Snipe Eel [Avocettina acuticeps]
Description
Also known as the Sharp-headed Duckbill Eel, this species is found in the Indian and Pacific Oceans. It has a long, thin body like other snipe eels and a sharp, duckbill-like snout. It is a deep-sea species, found at depths of 200 to 6000 meters. It feeds on small crustaceans and cephalopods.
