Description

Nemichthyidae, or snipe eels, are characterized by their extremely elongated jaws and bodies. These deep-sea inhabitants have a ribbon-like appearance and feed on small fish and crustaceans. Their bodies are equipped with tiny, weakly developed fins and they lack scales.
