Socotra Cormorant [Phalacrocorax nigrogularis]
Description
The Socotra Cormorant is a threatened species of cormorant that is endemic to the Persian Gulf and the south coast of the Arabian Peninsula. It prefers rocky and sandy islands and feeds on a diet of fish and invertebrates. It has a glossy black plumage and a distinctive white patch on the thigh.
