Description

The Silvery Pout, also known as the Silver Whiting, is a marine fish species native to the northeastern Atlantic Ocean. It is found from Norway to Morocco, including the North Sea and the Mediterranean. The Silvery Pout usually inhabits sandy or muddy bottoms of the continental shelf at depths of 10-300 m. This small fish, rarely exceeding 20 cm in length, is known for its silver color and a black spot at the base of the pectoral fin.
